Application & Admission
Applicants are required to possess (or being in the process of finalisation of) a university degree of at least 10 semesters in Law. The applications of candidates with degrees in other disciplines (Social Sciences, Philosophy, etc.) will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis.
The number of students admitted to enrol is limited to 35. The selection of the candidates will be made according to the criteria specified below.
The tuition fees amount to 4.820,00 EUR, including official stamps (16,00 EUR) and state taxes for university enrolment (189,00 EUR). The Organising Committee has made an agreement with a guesthouse on the basis of which our students will get reduced prices for meals and individual rooms for the whole period of the residential session in Imperia-Porto Maurizio.
Fifteen scholarships will be awarded altogether to the competing candidates. The Universities of Genoa and Girona offer five scholarships, which consist in the complete exemption from the tuition fees (for a total amount of 4.520 EUR). Another five scholarships offered by the University of Genoa consist in the exemption from tuition fees for an amount of 2.000 EUR. The last five scholarships offered by the University of Genoa consist in the exemption from tuition fees for an amount of 1.000 EUR.

The Master’s Secretary Office is always closed
from 1st August to 11 September, every year.
How to Apply?
Read carefully the official Call for Applications (in Italian) and prepare the documents for the on-line application in advance. The deadline for applications is 07 July 2026, at noon (12 o’clock Italian time).

"IMPORTANT NOTE: Due to the present widespread public emergency related to COVID-19, documents without the required legalisation (for example, official University stamps for academic transcripts or the declaration of worth of University diplomas released by Italian diplomatic authorities) will be nevertheless accepted for application purposes. The applications will be considered as done under self-certification of the veracity of the provided information, and also under the commitment of obtaining the required legalisation as soon as possible. Non-fulfilment of this commitment shall affect the final enrolment".
Documents to attach in PDF to your on-line application:
1. A copy of your identity card or passport.
2. Curriculum vitae et studiorum (CV)
(It is mandatory to indicate the level of your language skills in your CV. Reading comprehension in English and Spanish, as well as oral and written communication in at least one of the official languages of the program—English or Spanish—is indispensable).
3. A copy of your academic transcripts.
(That is, a list of all the subjects of your university degree and the grades obtained thereof).
4. A copy of your original university diploma.
In case of a degree obtained outside of Italy, and not yet officially declared as equivalent to Italian graduate degrees, add a proof (or a self-certification) that the procedure has been started for obtaining a declaration of worth of your diploma (Such a declaration—in Italian: “dichiarazione di valore”—shall be solicited at and made by a competent Italian diplomatic or consular representation for the country where the studies were carried out).
5. Up to two letters of recommendation.
(In the on-line application, you will have to upload them in the “Further Title” section].
6. For the candidates applying for a scholarship: a research project on one of the subjects connected to the Master’s program, written either in English, Spanish, French, or Italian. The text shall not exceed 10.000 characters (not words) including spaces, footnotes, and bibliography.

All documents attached to your application need to be uploaded in PDF, except the project's file which must be uploaded in .DOC or .DOCX format (word processing document). Each of these documents must be less than 2 Megabytes (otherwise you won’t be able to upload them).

Admissions Criteria & Deadlines for Enrolment
The Admissions Committee - which will evaluate the applications for admission and for scholarships - will assign to every application up to 100 points according to the following criteria: up to a max. of 20 points for evaluation of a candidate’s university degree and CV; up to a max. of 5 points for evaluation of each of the two letters of recommendation; and up to a max. of 70 points for evaluation of the research project (the latter will be considered only for the purposes of offering the scholarships). Of these 70 points, up to 40 points can be given for the relevance and the originality; up to 20 points for the structure and the mode of presentation; whereas a max. of 10 points can be given for the bibliography.
Those who can afford the costs of this Master’s program on their own are kindly encouraged not to apply for the scholarships.
Rankings of candidates
There will be two different types of announcements, one regarding the evaluation of the candidates for scholarships, and the other regarding the evaluation of the candidates in general.
I. Candidates for scholarships
The publication of the corresponding rankings will follow this schedule:
1. The first ranking of the candidates, regarding the winners of the five full scholarships, will be published by 14 July 2026.
Confirmation of their acceptation must be communicated, without exception, before 16 July 2026 (12:00 Italian Time).
2. The second ranking of the candidates, regarding the winners of the five partial scholarships - exemption from tuition fees for an amount of 2.000 EUR, will be published by 20 July 2026.
Confirmation of their acceptation must be communicated, without exception, before 22 July 2026 (12:00 Italian Time).
3. The third ranking of the candidates, regarding the winners of the five partial scholarships - exemption from tuition fees for an amount of 1.000 EUR, will be published by 24 July 2026.
Confirmation of their acceptation must be communicated, without exception, before 27 July 2026 (12:00 Italian Time).
II. Candidates in general
The publication of the final general ranking, corresponding to all admitted students (including scholarship winners and others), will be published by 28 July 2026.
In the case of equal rankings between the candidates for enrolment, priority will be given to the younger one. In the case of equal rankings between candidates for scholarships, priority will be given to the one with a less favourable economic situation.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Missing the deadlines implies losing the scholarships and the possibility to participate in the Master.

Enrolment
All admitted candidates must complete the enrolment procedure before 20 August 2026. The enrolment must be carried out online by accessing the platform: https://servizionline.unige.it/studenti/post-laurea/confermaPL, clicking on "Conferme iscrizione post-laurea" and selecting the Master from the list.
The total amount due depends on the type of scholarship awarded. The first payment to complete enrolment is now € 550.00 for all admitted students. It includes the university contribution (€ 400.00), stamp duties (€ 32.00) and diploma shipping costs (€ 118.00).
1. Candidates with a full scholarship
These candidates must pay 550,00 EUR. This amount covers administrative fees, stamp duties, and diploma shipping costs.
2. Candidates with a partial scholarship – exemption from tuition fees for an amount of 2.000 EUR
These candidates must pay 550 EUR upon enrolment.
The second and third payments are due on: 15 September 2026 (1,520 EUR) and 15 October 2026 (1,000 EUR). Total amount: 3,070 EUR.
3. Candidates with a partial scholarship – exemption from tuition fees for an amount of 1.000 EUR
These candidates must pay 550 EUR upon enrolment.
The second and third payments are due on: 15 September 2026 (2,000 EUR) and 15 October 2026 (1,520 EUR). Total amount: 4,070 EUR.
4. Candidates without a scholarship
These candidates must pay 550 EUR upon enrolment.
The second and third payments are due on: 15 September 2026 (2,520 EUR) and 15 October 2026 (2,000 EUR). Total amount: 5,070 EUR.
Payments must be made online using pagoPA or the services offered by BPER, the cashier bank of the University of Genoa. Bank transfers are not possible.
